Water wars? Thirsty, energy-short China stirs fear

A vast and heavily populated region of Asia that depends on water from Tibetan rivers is feeling the effects of China's ambitious efforts to redraw its water map. Fears are surging that China's accelerating program of damming every major river flowing from the Tibetan plateau will trigger disasters, degrade fragile ecologies and divert water supplies.
