As the clip opens, all is well. Oscar plays, eats bugs and bonds with his family -- until one day Oscar accidentally gets left behind when the group runs away from danger. Now Oscar is an orphan...until an old chimpanzee finds Oscar and adopts him. The documentary crew began filming in 2009 and intended to follow the troop of chimpanzees as a group. But when Oscar got left behind, the crew changed focus and went where the story led them.
The film is directed by Alastair Fothergill and Mark Linfield. It will be released on Earth Day, 2012. Take a look:
