Trailer for Disney Naturefilms' Documentary: Chimpanzee

We dare you not to shed a tear as you watch this amazing new trailer from Chimpanzee, a documentary that follows three-year-old Oscar and a family of chimpanzees living in the Ivory Coast and Ugandan rain forests. Produced in association with the Wild Chimpanzee Foundation and the Jane Goodall Institute, the film's purpose is to reveals the secret life of the chimpanzee for the first time on the big screen, as well as give insights into the emotions, intelligence and thoughts of this species which is endangered by hunters and poachers.

As the clip opens, all is well. Oscar plays, eats bugs and bonds with his family -- until one day Oscar accidentally gets left behind when the group runs away from danger. Now Oscar is an orphan...until an old chimpanzee finds Oscar and adopts him. The documentary crew began filming in 2009 and intended to follow the troop of chimpanzees as a group. But when Oscar got left behind, the crew changed focus and went where the story led them.

The film is directed by Alastair Fothergill and Mark Linfield. It will be released on Earth Day, 2012. Take a look:
